Everybody know that when it comes to Christmas, traditions come first… but in the quintessential District of innovation, we tried to propose a new take on the most traditional feast of all by adding a touch of originality!
Starting on 7 December, before you let the gargantuan Christmas menu overwhelm you, make a stop at Portanuova! Portanuova POP CHRISTMAS will give you emotions and surprise you with its innovation, technology, and immersive special effects. All of our installations are accompanied by unpublished soundtracks: from the “Musica Di Natale 2023” playlist including the best Christmas songs ever to new Christmas records by major artists the likes of Cher, Gerry Scotti, The Tenors and Me Contro Te.
Piazza Gae Aulenti will host a 13-metre tree, a light tunnel to plunge into the Christmas atmosphere and 5 interactive rooms, each with a musical theme: – Powered by Me Contro Te, Disco Vintage – Powered by The Tenors, – Powered by Gerry Scotti, Infinity Ice Tunnel – Powered by Cher, and the Illusion Gift and Gingerbread Worldrooms where you may listen to the “Musica Di Natale 2023” playlist mixed by Warner Music Italy.
By using the Portanuova Milano app, you may scan the various QR codes that will guide you in this immersive experience, explore the special offers by our retailers, enjoy daily “easy life” services and access all of our social media filters, which you may share on Instagram and TikTok, contributing to expanding our POP CHRISTMAS FAMILY.
The installation will continue in Piazza Alvar Aalto, where a giant gift box will tempt you to take Christmas photos and post them on social networks. The Via Gioia bridge, the walkway in Via Capelli, and the Piazza Gae Aulenti fountain will also bloom with lights and colours enriching the magical atmosphere.

The POP CHRISTMAS project was developed in the classic Portanuova style: it is inclusive and accessible, with a strong commitment to sustainability and community wellness. Its virtuous approach is tangible and transversal: from the renewed collaboration with the Amici di Cometa non-profit organization – that homes over 1300 children and young adults – to the choice of partner for the immersive setups and digitalization of the event: Apeiron Studio. Apeiron is a startup company born in January 2023 – as a division of Chimera Studio – and is specialized in augmented reality; its team includes rising talents aged between 19 and 21 years!
