Milano Fashion Week 2021. The haute couture tour stops by Portanuova.

A ritual, an event, one the of the most awaited moments of the year. Milano Fashion Week is the point of contact between Italy and the world, and between past, present and future. Last year, the first digital edition of the Fashion Week created a connection with the general public. This year, we came a bitcloser to people. With live events focused on beauty, with bright colours coming from exotic places and eclectic sets.

Portanuova, the fashion system stopped here too.
From September 21st until September 27th, Milan turned into an open-air catwalk, which has already been a video clips, movies and TV series set, thanks to the project Milano City Studios in collaboration with Big Spaces, Portanuova played its part during the Fashion Week, welcoming international stars and top models and creating occasions where everybody could experience the haute couture glamour.

Here are the ones who paraded through the streets of the neighbourhood.

Versace, THE THEATRE
September 24th, Piazza Lina Bo Bardi
i

Donatella Versacechose once again Piazza Lina Bo Bardi, at the crossroad of Portanuova modern architecture, as the venue for the parade. International stars like Dua Lipa, Gigi Hadid e Lourdes Leon appeared on the catwalk.
The foulard and the iconic Greek logo, the fashion house’s distinctive features, were starring, blended together with bold colours and flower patterns.

MSGM
September 25th, BAM – Biblioteca degli Alberi Milano

Colourful and urban. Massimo Giorgetti was inspired by these tones to create the MSGM spring/summer 2022 collection. An urban summer to be enjoyed in the city, but outdoor. The chosen catwalk? The Biblioteca degli Alberi park.

Luisa Spagnoli
September 26th, from Palazzo Isimbardi to The Glass

Freedom, optimism and sensuality. A collection taking inspiration from the warm colours of the Mediterranean and a new way to consider haute couture. For her first parade within the official calendar of the Milano Fashion Week, Luisa Spagnoli chose Palazzo Isimbardi. For the models’ casting and fitting she then moved to The Glass, a 320 square metres space with panoramic windows, dedicated to events, photo shoots and TV and filmshoots, located in Portanuova.

SCALAPAY
September 25th-26th, Piazza Gae Aulenti

Finally, the Fashion Week was an opportunity for style and beauty lovers to get involved. Piazza Gae Aulenti was the setting of Scalapay Hub, a creative space realised by Scalapay, the innovative service allowing to defer payments in 3 monthly instalments. Special guests like Giulia Salemi, Giulia Torelli from Rock ‘N’ Fiocc and Cleo Toms took turns at the corners set up in the square and talked about style and beauty: talks, meet&greet and free masterclasses let the general public come close to the fashion world.

Many events, one dream.
Revive the Italian style and make it accessible.
To all.
