BAM CIRCUS - The Festival of Wonders at the Park

3 days of irresistible attractions at Portanuova.

From 17 to 19 June, the BAM - Milan Library of Trees will organize the first edition of BAM Circus - The Festival of Wonders at the Park. A three-day event dedicated to contemporary street theatre and circus art featuring as many as 9 international companies from The Netherlands, France, Brazil, and Ukraine that will perform over 20 shows, all completely free of charge! The Portanuova skyline will turn into the backdrop for a rich calendar of outdoor events offered by the stars of circus art.

Shows will take place in every area of the BAM, including the Area Circolare dei Pioppi, dei Meli, Area delle Betulle, dei Frassini, Carpini e Cedri. The open-air stage of the Festival will feature – from dawn until dusk – a sequence of performances, games, workshops, talks, and shows for visitors 0 to 99 to attract popularity. 4 information booths and a picnic area with 10 food & beverage stands will also be available throughout the event. Notable dates include: Anime leggere, a physical theatre show by the renowned Ukrainian quartet Dekru; Impara a stupire (learn to surprise), a workshop in which jugglers will entertain the little ones.

La danza degli alberi (the dance of trees), a stilt walker parade conducted by the Piccolo Nuovo Teatro drama company (Italy); and lo Spettacolo Onirico di Cavalli Luminosi by the French company Des Quidams. Are the marching parades and tightrope walking, puppet, and aerial dance shows still not enough? Don’t miss 16-MOB, the anticipated closing performance, in part itinerant, by Transe Express, to the rhythm of drums and culminating with its artists in flight… literally. Some of the recurring rendezvous throughout the Festival include: Picnic in the Park, in the company of acrobats, jugglers, and stilt walkers; Sunset in the Park, a musical aperitif with the Festival’s artists; and BAM Yoga Open Air, featuring rocket yoga lessons to align your inner balance with the jubilant sky of BAM Circus - the Festival of Wonders at the Park.
