Portanuova brings you the 2022 world cup passion

In the first-ever LEED & WELL for Community-certified district in the world, sustainability also means togetherness. Portanuova celebrates the passion for the most loved sport in Italy by giving the city of Milan a space where to follow all the games of the FIFA World Cup 2022 – which will take place in Qatar – for free. For the joy of all football fans wishing to enjoy the tournament matches, Piazza Gae Aulenti will be equipped – starting on Sunday 20 November – with a LED giant screen. To embellish this unmissable event, an indoor exhibition (also free of charge) will provide the visitors with a glance at the culture of the World Cup host. Both the Live Event and Exhibition are offered thanks to the support of the Consulate General of Qatar in Milan.

FIFA World Cup 2022 Live Events
You can’t go wrong: simply follow the light effects projected by the giant screen to announce the kick-off and you’ll reach Piazza Gae Aulenti, between the IBM Studios and Pandenus, where you may follow all the matches from a large football field decorated with the artwork by Stefano Rossetti. Behind the screen, there will be a photograph panel to inspire whoever wishes to take a selfie or have their picture taken (why not, even lifting a world cup!). The football field will be lined up with the chairs, armchairs, sofas, and tables supplied by Driade: a tribute to Milan’s long-lasting passion for design. The fans may also benefit from warm blankets and cutting-edge wireless headphones that may be booked for free through the Portanuova app to follow the games as comfortably as possible.

Exhibition Qatar 2022
To garnish the event, an indoor exhibition will accompany the visitors (whether fans or not) to the discovery of the history, places, architecture, and natural wonders of Qatar, including artworks, everyday objects, and a selection of the most utilized spices. From the present to the future: an area will be dedicated to the projects by the students from the Modigliani high school of Giussano (Monza and Brianza) involved in a work placement project with Arredaesse (an Italian luxury architecture/interior design studio) called ARLab and focused on product design, graphic design, fashion, and art based on the modern and traditional styles of Qatar. Also thanks to its evocative video projections, Exhibition Qatar 2022 is a true journey across the sand of the desert and the Gulf beaches, enveloped by the futuristic architectural visions inspired by the ancient Islamic tradition of the capital city, Doha.
