Portanuova hosts one of the three large Alcantara portals open over the Milan Design Week. The project draws a new urban map through a constellation of symbols linked to the physical and metaphorical meaning of the door. These machines of wonder, 5.5 meters high, 5.9 meters wide and 4.2 meters deep, send a message of sustainability and respect for the environment. In fact, they are built with metal structures recycled from scaffolding which, at the end of the Design Week, will re-enter the circle. The upholstery creatively reinterprets the tradition of quilting, the art of sewing different layers of fabric together. It draws from the world of tattoos and street culture, and in turn, is obtained with upcycled material and factory waste used for small patchwork pieces.

The appointment is also an opportunity to launch Door, the new Repubblica insert dedicated to Interior Design and Lifestyle.
